Mascot characters have been connecting organizations with people for decades. They give a brand personality, put a face to a company, and create an emotional connection that a logo alone sometimes can’t. At Deadbolt, character design is more than a trend or another asset for the brand style guide. It’s a craft with a rich history, its own visual language, and a unique ability to become a meaningful part of an organizatios and communities it represents.

That history is an important part of the process. Each project begins by digging into the world the character will inhabit, its audience, its story, its environment, and, when one exists, the personality and physical presence of a live mascot. From there, research, reference, and exploration inform a character system rooted in the timeless appeal of classic character design. The goal isn’t simply to draw a great mascot; it’s to give that character a life, personality, and visual language all its own, one capable of connecting with people and growing alongside the identity for years to come.
