Founded in 2017, Deadbolt Design Lab is a graphic design studio specializing in illustration, branding and logo design, merchandise, and print and packaging. Created by the husband-and-wife team Kyle and Ashley Van Cleave, Deadbolt brings two decades of combined experience in design, marketing, and customer service to our customers.

We work with clients of every size and budget. We believe there’s always a seat at the table for those who are passionate about their business, brand, or product. Our team puts care into every step of the process, aiming for a collaborative and personable experience from first draft to final delivery.

Ashley

Manager

Ashley is the heart and soul of Deadbolt. Keeping Kyle and Boris on task - and the studio lights on - she brings a thoughtful touch to the work we do. Ash is in charge of all things “non-design” related; if you call or email us, you’re going to get her. Beyond being a deeply devoted mother and caring friend to all she enjoys a cheesy romance movie and a good binge of Grey’s Anatomy.

Kyle

Kyle is the Chief Executie Nerd at Deadbolt. With a career spanning 15 years he has helped bring life to a wide array of projects. Kyle has a deep appreciation for bowling alleys, arcades, and all things glow-in-the-dark. Outside of time with his family Kyle enjoys Orioles baseball, Oregon State football, Hanna-Barbera cartoons and classic monster movies.

Boris

Monster

Boris is the studio’s resident monster. He is from all over Europe; he’s a real puzzle this one. On some days he claims his birthday is in 1818 and on others its 1931. “Bo” loves thunderstorms, castles, and dabbling in electrical alchemy. He gets a little weird around open flames but we’re helping him work through that. He provides Deadbolt with a much needed quiet confidence.
