PACKER ORCHARDS & BAKERY

Packer Orchards is a family owned century farm located in the foothills of Mt. Hood in Hood River, Oregon. The Packer family approached us at the end of 2019 to reimagine their branding and help them prepare for their 100th anniversary in 2020.

We spent the weeks prior to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns walking the two main properties the family owns looking at labels, old fruit crates, touch-points and areas for improvement. We presented them with a modern look that took some visual cues from fruit art and branding in the early to mid 20th Century.

The pear, a specialty of the orchard’s many wonderful bounty, became a focal point. A system of badges and crests anchor the brands ability to be used in a multitude of ways without feeling stagnant or repetitive. The company owns not only fruit orchards but a large bakery, sunflower farm, pumpkin patch, corn rows and a plethora of family-fun offerings on their largest property. The brand assets needed to work with each of these aspects, and in some cases feel unique to them while still working with the greater brand.
